Library!!!

Day 4 and we had library today!!  We are very fortunate to have Mrs. Melissa be our storyteller in library again this year!!  The kids love her and she does a wonderful job!  Each child got to check-out a book to bring home for the week.  Please remember to send it back next Tuesday so they can check out a new book.

Day 3

Well, we've had 3 days of school and I had to leave my class with Ms. Ashley for the afternoon.  I usually do not take days off this early, but my daughter, Ainsley, fell off the trampoline on Saturday so we had to take her down to Hays on Monday to have them double-check her.  I'm glad we did, because instead of having a broken elbow, she has a broken femur next to her shoulder.  She will be in an immobilizer for 3 weeks and then they will check the healing progress.  Thanks for everyone's concerns.  The kids were even concerned about her this morning when I came to school.

September Snack Calendar

FIRST DAYS

Well, the first two days of school are history! and they went pretty good.  The kids came bopping in on Thursday with eyes full of wonder and excitement!  The kids are excited when they enter the classroom each day.

LUNCH: Thanks to Suzanne and Ashley for helping our class maneuver the new lunchroom walk and routine through the intermediate and MS buildings.  It's been an adventure to say the least! but it will get better.  If anyone is able to help us with lunchroom monitoring, please let me know.  It would be from approx. 10:40 - 11:30.

DISMISSAL:  We are trying the MOVING pick-up line this year in front of the school for dismissal.  Please post your child's name card where it can be seen by our dismissal helpers.

Reminders and Notes -
  • Read and sign planners each day.  On Fridays, please move clip to the following week.
  • Fill-out information sheet online or return paper copy to school.
  • Check take-home folder each day for important notes and homework that your child has completed.

Parent Letter (Mailed 8/20/2010)

Dear Parents:

The first day of school is just around the corner and I am so excited to share this first school experience with you and your child.  I hope to make your child’s school experience terrific this year!

I believe a good parent-teacher relationship is key to a happy and successful year.  I will be writing daily notes in your child’s planner, making phone calls, and visiting with you from time to time.  Your child will receive a planner the first day of class.  Please get in the habit of checking the planner daily.  You can reach me by email @ swolf@colbyeagles.org or by phone at the school 460-5100 ext. 1204.

Entering Kindergarten can be an exciting and sometimes scary experience.  To help ease into school, we will be having a Come-N-Go SNEAK PEEK on Wed. Aug. 25th from 5:00-6:00.  Please bring your child’s school supplies labeled (except pencils) and I will have baskets to sort the supplies into.  This will be a tremendous help for the first day.

I have enclosed an information paper for you to complete and return at the SNEAK PEEK or on the first day of school.  Be sure to let me know of any food allergies your child may have as we do have a daily snack.  You may provide any additional information you feel will help me with your child.

School begins at 8:00 and dismisses at 3:30.  Kindergartners who do not ride the bus will be picked up in front of the school.  It is important to arrive on time.

I look forward to meeting you and working with you throughout the school year!

Sincerely,

Stacy Wolf
