Our Carpet Has ARRIVED!!

Look how BIG our new rug is!!!  

Our carpet that we received from DonorsChoose.org FINALLY arrived on November 19!!  The kids and I were so excited!!  We quickly ripped off the tape and unrolled our carpet to see what it looked like.  We all LOVE our carpet!

Thanks to everyone who helped make this dream a reality in our classroom.  Please stop by our room to check it out!!!

Rain+Recess= 64 kids need entertained in 1 confined space

As teachers we always dread those two words that come around about this time of year and leave mid-spring . . . .  . . . . INSIDE RECESS!!  Well, those words were spoken again today and this time I had the privilege of finding activities to entertain all 64 Kindergarten students.  I was so pleased with how well they did.  We had 2 large tables filled with construction paper scraps, glue sticks and scissors (WOW!!  I earned lots of brownie points for this center!!), then we had 3 games of Candy Land, Mrs. Stacy's GIANT white board to write on to play school, pattern blocks, doll house, 2 groups of Legos, 2 Lite Brite's, along with our regular centers.  It was SUCCESSFUL if I say so myself!!

SLEEPY SPOOKS!!!!

The room is filled with sleepy little spooks today!!  It is rest time and boy are they TIRED!!!  I turned the crashing waves on and they were OUT!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Halloween!!  It's so much fun, but I'm glad it only comes around once a year!

Visitors to the School

Today we had visitors visiting our classrooms!  That's right, the Sharon Springs Grade School teachers came to Colby for their inservice today.  They went to many classrooms and watched lessons, talked to teachers about the Colby curriculum and more.  It was nice to be able to pass some of our wonderful ideas on to other teachers.  What a great inservice to be able to go watch another teacher inside his/her own element!
